On 29th of June 2016, two minor girls named Kalpana Dey (name changed) aged 14yrs)and Roma Khamaru (name changed) aged 18Yrs, went missing from their at 7.00pm. Kalpana’s mother verbally informed the Mathurapur Police Station regarding missing of her daughter. It was on 01.07.2016; the family approached to the project staffs of KMWSC regarding their missing daughter & requested them to help in them in this regard. Mr. Rabi Shankar Roy and Ms. Bithika Halder accompanied the family to police station and requested the Child Welfare Officer to start investigation to trace her daughter.
Police interrogated Anta’s mother and collected all related information of Kalpana since the day of missing. It was revealed that Kalpana and another girl Roma Khmaru her friend from same school went out from their home saying that they will visit Garia for shopping. In the meanwhile police discovered that Roma before leaving her home phoned a friend named Rahul that she is upset with her mother and leaving her family forever with Kalpana. Without any delay Rahul informed Roma’s parents regarding the matter and Roma’s [parents were searching for her from their neighbourhood, local area, relatives but they didn’t find any whereabouts of Roma. Both the families were unaware that two girls left home on the same day.
On the same day i.e. on 1st July 2016 Police rescued Roma from Raidighi, by tracking down her mobile number and on early morning of 2nd July 2016, Kalpana was rescued from Tiljala, Kolkata. Mathurapur Child Welfare Officer asked both girls after the rescue regarding their decision to live home; it came into limelight that Kalpana had an affair with a named Krishna, who convinced her to marry him. Kalpana somehow came to know that Roma had a disturb relation with her parents, she convinced Roma to accompany her to Kolkata where she will meet her Boyfriend. But Roma felt the fishy matter in all these incidents she phoned Rahul her neighbourhood friend that she might be trapped in trafficking and requested him to help. Rahul immediately informed Roma’s mother and they reported the matter to Police. Police tracked her phone number and rescued her from Raidighi, and Roma responded that she felt something wrong is happening with her, she left Kalpana and took a local train and reached to her maternal Aunts home in Raidighi.
After collecting all information from Roma, Mathurapur Police tracked Krishna’s phone number and rescued Kalpana from Tiljala area (Kolkata) on 2nd July 2016.
