On 16th June 2025, Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) hosted a focused Networking and Advocacy Meeting in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas district, as part of its upcoming Silver Lining Project — an initiative dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights, especially of the most vulnerable groups.

The meeting brought together key administrative and community stakeholders, including the Joint Block Development Officer (BDO) of Baruipur, Panchayat Pradhan and members, and a representative from the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) South 24 Parganas. The primary objective was to build a collaborative framework for addressing rights violations and strengthening local mechanisms that ensure protection, dignity, and justice for all.

The Director of Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre was present at the meeting and delivered a powerful message, stating:

“Human rights are not just legal provisions — they are the foundation of human dignity. The Silver Lining Project envisions a society where every individual, especially the most marginalised, can live free from fear, exploitation, and discrimination.”

The meeting concluded with a strong commitment from all stakeholders to support the Silver Lining Project in building a rights-respecting environment where every voice is heard, protected, and empowered.
