On 3rd April 2025, the Brickfield School Project launched Phase 2 of the Health Programme, beginning with a successful rollout in the Basirhat region. The initiative kicked off with health check-up camps at four brickfields—Ashok, Radha, Agragami, and Banasri—where a total of 205 patients were screened, including migrant workers, women, and children.
Ashok BFS: 68 patients
Radha BFS: 43 patients
Agragami BFS: 51 patients
Banasri BFS: 43 patients
Each camp provided free medical consultations and medicines as prescribed by qualified healthcare professionals. The outreach is a critical part of projects efforts to provide preventive and curative healthcare to migrant families who otherwise lack access to basic medical services due to their remote and mobile lifestyles.
In addition to health check-ups, Health Awareness Sessions were conducted for the community, focusing on “Personal Hygiene and Preventive Healthcare.” These interactive sessions aimed to build awareness around simple yet essential health practices such as hand washing, safe drinking water, menstrual hygiene, and nutrition — key to preventing illness and ensuring well-being.
This initiative marks the beginning of a comprehensive effort to cover 37 brickfields across the districts of Nadia, North 24 Parganas, and South 24 Parganas throughout April 2025. The goal is to ensure that healthcare and hope reach every child and family, reinforcing the belief that good health is the foundation of a brighter future.
KMWSC remains deeply committed to improving the lives of migrant communities by integrating health, education, and dignity through all its programmes.
“Healing hands, healthy hearts – bringing care to every corner of the kilns.”
