On 2nd March 2025, Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) had the privilege of attending a highly insightful workshop on "Adolescent Health Consultation 2025", organised by the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) at Rabindra Okakura Bhawan, Salt Lake, Kolkata.
The workshop brought together experts, child rights advocates, educators, and stakeholders working in the field of adolescent health and well-being. The discussions revolved around critical issues affecting adolescents, including physical and mental health, nutrition, substance abuse, and psychosocial support.
The event provided a platform for sharing best practices, addressing policy gaps, and developing strategies to enhance adolescent health services in West Bengal. KMWSC actively contributed by sharing its experiences in working with adolescent groups across its various projects, particularly in menstrual health and hygiene awareness, mental health support, and life skills education.
The consultation workshop reinforced the collective commitment towards ensuring a holistic, rights-based approach to adolescent health, aligning with KMWSC’s ongoing initiatives to empower young individuals with knowledge, access to health services, and a safe environment for their growth and development.
