Grand Inauguration of Revamped Model Centre at Budge Budge: A Collaborative Effort with Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta, Midtown.

On the morning of 24th January 2025, the Brickfield School Project team at Budge Budge came together to prepare for the grand inauguration of the newly revamped Model Centre. With support from the Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta Midtown, the centre underwent significant enhancements, including the addition of chairs, tables, dustbins, and various other infrastructural development. The venue was meticulously arranged with a candle stand, banners hung, ribbons tightened, and seating set up for a drawing competition, creating a festive atmosphere.   The revamp also included installing a water pump, water filter to ensure access to clean drinking water and vibrant wall paintings featuring educational themes, giving the facility a cheerful and inspiring look. These thoughtful additions were made possible through the generous support of the Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta Midtown, emphasising their commitment to enhancing learning environments for children.   The event began with the warm welcome of guests from the Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta Midtown, who were greeted with “Uttorios” and small floral bouquets as tokens of appreciation. Guests were then invited to join in a prayer circle, where the program was initiated with the ceremonial lighting of candles by the representatives of the Inner Wheel Club and KMWSC's Director, Sr. Biviyana Lepcha.   Following the prayer service, Sr. Biviyana delivered a heartfelt welcome address, expressing gratitude to the donors for their invaluable contribution to the revamp of the Model Centre. The inauguration ceremony reached its pinnacle with the ribbon-cutting by the honoured guests, symbolising the official opening of the revamped centre.   A vibrant cultural program followed, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of the Brickfield School Project children and staff. The BFS teachers presented a mesmerizing welcome dance, followed by captivating tribal and other cultural performances by the children, leaving the audience in awe of their creativity and energy.   Adding to the celebrations, a drawing competition was held, highlighting the artistic talents of the children. The winners were honoured with prizes, which were presented by the guests from the Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta Midtown, creating a moment of joy and encouragement for the young participants.   The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sr. Biviyana. She expressed gratitude to the Inner Wheel Club of Calcutta Midtown for their unwavering support and to the Brickfield School Project team for their dedication and meticulous arrangements. The celebration was a testament to the collaborative efforts in creating a space that inspires learning, creativity, and growth for the children.
