On 26th January 2025, Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great fervour and enthusiasm across its Administrative Office in Kolkata, all project fields in West Bengal, and the Model Village in Nawada district of Bihar. At the Administrative Office, the celebration began with the unfurling of the Indian Tricolour by the Director, Sr. Biviyana Lepcha. The national anthem reverberated in the air, filling everyone with pride and patriotism. The Director addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of the Constitution in upholding justice, equality, and liberty for all citizens. In the project fields, Republic Day was celebrated with equal zeal. The respective project staff explained the significance of the day, educating children and community members about the history and values embedded in the Indian Constitution. At several locations, children showcased their talent and creativity through spectacular cultural performances, including patriotic songs, dances, and skits. These performances not only brought joy but also instilled a sense of national pride among the participants. In Nawada’s Model Village, the day took on a unique flavour with community members actively participating in discussions on the rights and duties of citizens. The program concluded with collective reflections on how each individual can contribute to the nation's progress, even in the remotest areas. The celebration was a heart-warming reminder of India's diversity and unity, inspiring everyone to work towards a brighter, more inclusive future. The spirit of Republic Day resonated in every corner where KMWSC operates, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
