The story of Najma Bibi (Name changed):
Najma Bibi is a Trafficking Survivor. She lives in Fartapur (name changed) village in Basirhat. She married Hayet Sheik (name changed) from Hiji (name changed) village. The couple lived happily for a few days after marriage. After a few days, her husband demand more dowries from her parents and regularly bit her. Days after days, Najma endured mental and physical pain, which gradually became unbearable. In a situation like this, she met a man who trapped her in the name of love. One day she decided to go with the man anticipating a better future. After a few days, the man took Najma to Pune and tried to sell her in a brothel. After searching for a long time, Najma’s family lodged a missing diary (FIR) with the police. After a thorough search for 3 months, the police was able to find Najma and rescue her from Kolkata. After her rescue she lived in a government shelter home. Now she is living with her family The police are trying to trace and bring the man to justice.
Najma wants to become self-reliant and begin a new life, living with self esteem.
