A perfect celebration

Kolkata Mary Ward Social centre celebrated 5th Anniversary of  its Chaulgola center on 4th and 8th November,2016 under Lotus Child – Community and Adult Education programm.

It is a celebration for all those who usually do not have much to celebrate about. The celebration includds a lot of fun and games for the children , giving them gifts and of course, a birthday cake.Staffs from KMWSC, teachers of the centre facilitated the programme.Our director Sr. Monica Suchiang was present in the programme on 8th November.

On 04.11.2016 we celebrated Children’s day. 150 children took part in the fun and activities. Children participated in dance, song, recitation and art activity. The children were provided breakfast, lunch and gifts.
Sports was organised on the same day. Men, women and the children of the community participated in different kind of games. Prizes were distributed too.Two groups of women conducted vocational training. Such as, paper bag making and candle design.

8.11.2016 – The day stared with the morning class observation. Teachers taught the children English, Bengali, Mathematics and Science.A health camp was held on that day. Dr. Joydeb Mandal facilitated the free medical health check up.The men, women and children were provided free medicine. 127 people attended the health camp.They shared their life experience and explained how they are benefited through the Lotus Child programme.

The smiles of kids are testimony to how much a celebration like this brings happiness amongst them.Here are few glimpses of the programme
