The Brick Field Schools Project has been operating 60 brick field centers in 4 districts of West Bengal- South + North 24 PGS, Hooghly and Nadia. The peak season of the brick kilns are from November to April every year. Many families start migrating from different states of India to the brick kilns of West Bengal along with their siblings and children. The teachers of centers identify the children and make negotiations with the owners of brick kilns that these children should be given opportunities for attending joyful learning methods for few hours. Mean while the status of children are tracked and interventions are made accordingly. As an extracurricular activities the project conducted annual sports in all the brick school centers from 10th of Jan to 25th Jan 2018. There were different games conducted in the centers like 50,70 meter race, potato race, spoon race,biscuit race, throwing ball into the buckets, frog race, sack race and many more. They lack the opportunities but they are filled with potentials and talents. There were 2449 children (Boys-1073, Girls- 1376) participated out of 3800 contacts in the annual sports organized for them. All the children were given gifts and prizes like school bags, tiffin box, food packets, exercise books, colour pencil sets on the sports' day. After receiving the gifts all the children were happy and went back to their families with smiling faces carrying a gift each in their hands.
