Carmela Grillone is a Human Rights activist and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Palermo, Law School. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from the University of Bologna and served for several years as a UN consultant in Syria and as an NGO project manager and director in Egypt, El Salvador and other countries. Her current research focuses on the sexual exploitation of Nigerian migrant girls in Italy. In order to deepen her studies on prostitution laws she has been a visiting researcher at the Center for Sexology and Sexuality Studies, Malmö University, Sweden. She has a strong interest in migration studies and international criminology.
