An awareness Session was organized for women of Sonagachi on 12.09.16. Child Line conducted the session on Child Rights and Child Protection.Two staffs from Child line, two teachers of Red Light Area Project and one staff from KMWSC facilitated the occasion.
10 women were present at the session.In the session the facilitators made a discussion on Child rights. They have focused on the main four rights. That is,
1. Right to Survival
2. Right to Protection
3. Right to development
4. Right to Participation
A discussion was held on good touch and bad touch by using some pictures. Child Line facilitators mentioned some points regarding the issue of Trafficking, Child missing case, Child labour, Child sexual abuse. For giving examples they used some true stories.Child line shared their toll free no 1098 and process of calling.At the end of the session women gave positive feedbacks that whenever they will find something wrong in their locality which relates to child problems, they will inform Child Line.
